A new low-priced store has opened in Suite 104, 3096 N. Eastman Road, Longview Towne Crossing.
Five Below describes itself as “a major high-growth value retailer for tweens, teens, and beyond.”
Many items cost less than $ 5. The local store manager said there wasn’t yet a “beyond section” with additional items priced over $ 5.
“We know that life is much better if we are free to” let go and have fun “in a wonderful experience full of endless possibilities. This makes it easy to say “yes”. “To be the latest and coolest in the world of eight amazing Five Belows: Tech, Create, Play, Candy, Room, Style, Party, New & Now,” said the company’s website.
Five Below was founded in Philadelphia in 2002 and currently has over 1,100 stores.
Business hours are Monday to Saturday from 10 am to 9 pm and Sunday from 10 am to 7 pm.
Banks expand to longview
The first National Bank of East Texas has opened in Longview.
The first National Bank of East Texas opened in Longview this month.
The Gilmer-based bank has opened a new branch in 1609 W. Loop 281 in front of the Northwest Village Shopping Center, directly opposite Village Drive from Stanton Optical.

The lobby is open Monday to Thursday from 9 AM to 4 PM and Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM. Drive-up times are Monday to Friday from 8am to 6pm and Saturday from 8am to noon. The branch also has an ATM that is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
The new Longview Bank branch has joined the network of First National Bank locations throughout eastern Texas, including Big Sandy, Diana, Emory, Gilmer, Lake Fork, Mineo La, Mount Vernon, Orcity, Pittsburgh and Quitman.
The first National Bank of East Texas was founded in 1900.
New cake shop

Jody Bell’s custom cake business has moved from his kitchen to a new location in Longview 807 N. High St.
Bell started Jody’s Sweet Creations about 11 years ago and made custom cakes in his kitchen.
“I was too busy to keep up with the number of orders for nine years,” Bell said, making 30-40 special cakes over the weekend.
Bell’s talent did not develop in formal cooking schools, but she always worked in the food service industry, primarily in the Longview area. When she moved to Colorado for seven years, she ran a “high-end professional catering company” where she worked with some “amazing” famous chefs. She said they taught her a lot.
She then lived in Marshall when she gained custody of her grandchildren. That was when she first started “playing with cake.”
“It just took off and began to walk its own life,” Bell said, but having a standing business place has always been her dream.
She continues to offer custom cakes in new locations on High Street, but is adding to what she offers. Her bakery case fills every day with ready-to-use cakes. She also offers boxed lunches and “glazing boxes” filled with, for example, deli meats, cheeses, specialty cheese spreads, fruits and vegetables, pickles.
Bell also offers catering from her new location.
And Bell is no longer alone in her kitchen. She already has five people working and she expects to eventually have six to ten employees.
Sweet Creations Cake and Catering Co. marked a soft launch last week and is fully in stock next week. Business hours are 9 AM to 7 PM. Tuesday to Saturday.
The dragon’s nest moves
Dragon’s Nest celebrated its opening earlier this month in a new location at 302 E. Main St. in downtown Kilgore.
Similar to Three Sands Unlimited on Longview Gilmer Road, the store has areas for comic books, cards such as Pokemon, board games and role-playing games, games and events.
Business hours are Monday noon to 9 pm, Tuesday to Thursday 11 am to 10 pm, Friday and Saturday 11 am to 11 pm, and 2 pm to 10 pm. Sunday.
