A description of the text provided by the architect. The Southern Science and Technology Campus (SUSTC) Phase II project (Project A: SUSTC Center, Plot C: Humanities University and Academic Exchange Center) designed by Architecturestudio was officially used in October 2020.

Plot A: SUSTC center. When you enter the campus from the west exit, you will see the SUSTC center located in the center. The green corridor between each microunit facilitates the flow of people and creates a rich and smooth sense of the scene where teachers and students can walk, communicate, visit exhibitions and enjoy the scenery. increase. The functions of the SUSTC center are a dining center, a library, and a service complex. The dining center is on the ground floor, the dining area faces the greenery, and the full-height glass curtain wall faces the garden. Teachers and students are free to enter the restaurant through independent entrances and rationalization does not interfere with each other. The volume of the library and services complex slowly increases, breaking through the green corridor and opening up the interior landscape to the surrounding landscape. On the other hand, both are composed in the same architectural language and form the whole with the dining center.

A well-connected ring system effectively integrates building blocks with a variety of features. Dotted with green walking paths, it creates a vivid public space. The humanized microclimate is in stark contrast to other single buildings on campus. Teachers and students can easily move around the building and enjoy indoor and outdoor activities without being disturbed by bad weather. The exterior walls appear to be wrapped in large warm-colored curtains, reflecting a clean and elegant atmosphere. Stones, light terracotta slabs and glass are regularly placed to guide people inside.

Plot C: Faculty of Humanities and Center for Academic Exchange. The layout matches the mountains in the form of a small mass community. Both space and shape inherit the essence of Reinan’s traditional gardens and modernize the meaning of Reinan’s regional culture. The buildings of the two groups, the Faculty of Humanities and the Academic Exchange Center, are one high to the south, one high to the north and one low, reflecting mountains and landscapes. This is an ecological organic community on the axis. Of the campus cultural landscape.

Faculty of Humanities. The Faculty of Humanities is functionally composed of the Departments of Humanities, Social Sciences, and Chinese Department, and also has a shared classroom and reading room. The three areas are arranged in three separate volumes, arranged along the mountains and connected by a corridor. Surrounded by the eaves of the building, the courtyard provides a quiet academic environment and continues the fusion of the Linnan architectural building and the courtyard. Each area has a separate courtyard inside the building, with an outward view of wetlands and mountains and a courtyard with a quiet courtyard view.

Academic Exchange Center. The Academic Exchange Center organizes various functions through the courtyard, and the Professor Club has many internal connections with those functions, which are also integrated into the design. The entrance plaza of the building is located on the terrace and is connected to the campus road on the east side by a large, well-maintained staircase. The layout of the south-facing courtyard reflects the traditional architectural temperament of Reinan in its entirety. The façade, adorned with gray bricks, sloping roofs and overhanging eaves, represents the traditional architectural elements of Linnan, while the rhythmic façade design is a modern performance of the traditional elements.

The 10th Anniversary of the University of South Science and Technology will take this opportunity for studios to provide teachers and students with a more exciting public space where they can relax with a learning experience and experience life unknowingly with learning. I hope that. And integrate “travel” and “learning”. At the same time, I hope that the future of Southern Science and Technology University will be brighter and dazzling.
